Lighthouse Masjid in Oakland is asking for helping paying their property taxes, replacing carpets, and repairing wadu area.

From Lighthouse Mosque: “Since the Lighthouse Mosque in Oakland was founded by Imam Zaid Shakir and others, it has been a source of inspiration, education, and comfort for so many in the Oakland Community. Recently we learned our request for religious exemption was denied causing our property taxes to become delinquent. We are working with the county to bring our taxes current and establish our religious exemption but before the county will allow us to reapply for the exemption we must pay off our back taxes. Having the religious exemption granted will qualify us for a refund minus penalty fees. We are humbly reaching out to the community to assist us in paying off back property taxes and penalties. The taxes must be paid by March 7, 2022.

Lighthouse Mosque is run totally by volunteers and none of the members receive a Salary. The funds raised in the effort will be used to pay our owed taxes and penalty fees. Please give what you can during this time of need and share this effort with others. May Allah reward you and your families with jannah…aameen. Donate
